Academic council

The Academic Council of Jalal-Abad International University (JAIU) is the highest collegial governing body of the University, providing strategic leadership for its educational, scientific, and innovative activities.

The Council is composed of the Rector (Chairperson), Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs (Deputy Chairperson), vice-rectors, heads of structural units, leading faculty members, researchers, and representatives of the student body. The Council operates in accordance with the legislation of the Kyrgyz Republic and the University Charter.

The main responsibilities of the Academic Council include:
— defining priority areas for the University’s development;
— approving academic programs and research plans;
— reviewing research outcomes and integrating them into the educational process;
— making decisions on the training of scientific and academic staff;
— promoting international cooperation and academic mobility;
— addressing issues related to improving the quality of education and research.

At its meetings, the Academic Council considers key issues of the University’s activities, including strategic planning, accreditation of academic programs, development of research infrastructure, as well as measures to stimulate scientific and innovative activity among faculty and students.

The Academic Council plays a crucial role in ensuring the sustainable development of the University, enhancing its competitiveness at national and international levels, and fostering a modern educational and research environment.
Meetings and documentation of the Academic Council are conducted in the state language.
