The Department of Clinical Disciplines of Jalal-Abad International University is a key educational-scientific and clinical-methodological division of the Faculty of Medicine. Its activities are aimed at ensuring practice-oriented training of students under higher professional education programs in the specialty 560001 “General Medicine,” taking into account national requirements, the needs of the healthcare system, and international trends in medical education.

Meeting of the Department of Clinical Disciplines

On January 13, 2026, a regular meeting of the Department of Clinical Disciplines was held, during which faculty members presented reports on the work completed during the autumn semester. Each lecturer delivered a presentation outlining their professional activities in accordance with the academic and individual work plans. Particular attention was given to achievements in professional development and educational and methodological activities.

At the conclusion of the presentations, faculty members summarized their work, highlighted their strengths, and identified areas requiring further improvement and transformation. At the end of the meeting, the Head of the Department, Gulbara Samidinovna Tashieva, summarized the outcomes and highly appreciated the overall quality of the reports. Special recognition was given to the reports of Ainagul Bakytbekovna Arzykulova, Aisuluu Taalaybekovna Tadzhibaeva, and Aigerim Makambay. In her concluding remarks, the Head of the Department presented the strategic objectives and long-term development plan of the department and called on all staff members to unite as an effective team to successfully achieve the department’s goals and objectives.

Department of Morphological Disciplines

The Department of Morphological Disciplines was established on August 30, 2025, at the Faculty of Medicine of Jalal-Abad International University (Order No. 83).
Since its establishment, the department has been developing dynamically, creating a modern educational environment and introducing advanced teaching methodologies.
The first head of the department was Candidate of Medical Sciences Matisakov K.S.
Since December 2025, the department has been headed by Maksuda Bekievna Zhumanalieva.

About the Department

The Department of Humanities and Natural Sciences is one of the leading academic divisions of Jalal-Abad International University, providing fundamental education in the humanities, natural sciences, and general professional disciplines.
The department was established in 2024 as part of the Medical Faculty, which was opened according to Protocol No. 2 of the Founding Council dated August 26, 2024. Together with the Department of General Medical Disciplines, it became an important academic foundation for the university’s educational programs.
The department focuses on developing students’ scientific outlook, communication and language skills, analytical thinking, digital literacy, and general cultural competencies. It provides teaching for both medical and IT educational programs, including “General Medicine” and 710100 – “Informatics and Computer Engineering,” specialization “Automated Information Processing and Management Systems” (Bachelor’s degree).
The department offers courses in humanities, languages, natural sciences, and information technologies, including philosophy, History of Kyrgyzstan, Kyrgyz language and literature, Russian language, English language, medical philosophy, medical physics, chemistry, bioinorganic and bioorganic chemistry, mathematics and informatics, programming, databases, computer architecture and systems, metrology, standardization and certification, and other subjects.
The department carries out academic, methodological, scientific, educational, and public activities. Its priorities include improving educational content, developing modern teaching materials, implementing innovative and digital learning technologies, strengthening research activities among teachers and students, and contributing to the quality assurance of the educational process.
The material and technical resources of the department meet modern higher education requirements. Classrooms are equipped with advanced teaching technologies, including LED screens and projection equipment. The department also has computer laboratories and specialized classrooms used in the educational process.
The history of the department’s leadership reflects its continuous development. The first head of the department was Zulfiya Atamyrzaevna Asilova, Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor. Later, the department was headed by Aisha Orozbaevna Kalmuratova, Candidate of Philological Sciences, Associate Professor. Currently, the department is led by Dinara Emenovna Kanetova, Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Associate Professor of Jalal-Abad International University.
Today, the department continues to develop as a modern academic unit that combines fundamental knowledge, interdisciplinary approaches, and innovative educational technologies for the preparation of highly qualified and competitive specialists.

Educational and Methodological Activities of the Department

The Department of Humanities and Natural Sciences carries out systematic educational and methodological work aimed at improving teaching quality, enhancing course content, and developing modern approaches to the organization of the educational process. The department’s methodological activities are implemented in accordance with annual work plans, educational program objectives, and the internal academic standards of the university.
As part of this work, the department develops and updates course syllabi, working curricula, lecture materials, practical assignments, methodological guidelines, and other educational resources. Special attention is given to the discussion and approval of materials for newly introduced subjects, peer observation of classes, organization of open lessons, and methodological seminars focused on the implementation of modern educational technologies.
The department regularly reviews the quality of lectures and practical classes, evaluates teaching and methodological manuals prepared by faculty members, analyzes the results of peer lesson observations, and organizes activities aimed at promoting innovative teaching methods. This contributes to the professional development of instructors, modernization of methodological support, and improvement of the overall educational environment of the department.

An evidence-based model of specialist training is required, in which scientific research and modern educational technologies provide measurable effects: growth of competencies, reduction of academic risks, formation of a portfolio of projects focused on sustainable development and graduate competitiveness.
5. Goal
To develop and implement a scientifically grounded model for training competitive JAMU specialists based on scientific and educational analytics and AI tools, ensuring measurable improvement in the quality of education and contribution to sustainable development objectives.

The research activity of the Department of Humanities and Natural Disciplines is an important component of its academic activity and is aimed at developing the scientific potential of faculty members and students, increasing publication activity, and integrating research results into the educational process. In accordance with the department plan, the directions of research activity, plans of student scientific clubs, and measures to enhance scientific activity are approved.
The department promotes the preparation and publication of scientific works by faculty members, expansion of participation in international, national, and regional scientific conferences, as well as the development of academic writing and research culture skills. Within the framework of scientific work, scientific-practical conferences, methodological seminars on writing scientific articles, and events aimed at increasing the effectiveness of research activities are organized.
The department attaches particular importance to involving students in research activities. For this purpose, student scientific clubs are organized, student participation in conferences is encouraged, актуal scientific topics are discussed, and interest in interdisciplinary research is stimulated. Educational and Social Activities of the Department

The Department of Humanities and Natural Disciplines carries out educational and social activities as an important part of the educational process aimed at developing students’ civic responsibility, spiritual and moral values, communication culture, patriotism, social activity, and respect for national and universal human values. The educational activities of the department are implemented in close connection with academic and curatorial work, as well as with the tasks of students’ personal development.
Within the framework of educational work, the department organizes curator hours, round tables, thematic discussions, cultural and educational, patriotic, social, and preventive events. Special attention is paid to issues of state language policy, historical and cultural heritage, legal education, healthy lifestyle promotion, prevention of socially dangerous phenomena, respect for human rights, and strengthening civic identity.
The department participates in organizing events dedicated to state, cultural, and memorial dates, and also supports student participation in the university’s social, sports, and charitable activities. Through the curator system, work is carried out on student adaptation, attendance control, support for students in need of social assistance, and strengthening interaction between the department, students, and their families.

Material and Technical Base of the Department

The faculty staff of the Department of Humanities and Natural Disciplines includes lecturers, senior lecturers, assistants, and associate professors who ensure the implementation of the educational, methodological, research, and educational activities of the department. The department includes both full-time and part-time staff members; among the teaching staff there are specialists holding Candidate of Sciences and Doctor of Sciences degrees.

History of the Department

The Department of Humanities and Natural Disciplines was established within the structure of the Jalal-Abad International University in 2024 as part of the Faculty of Medicine. According to Protocol No. 2 of the Founders’ Council dated August 26, 2024, the faculty included two departments: the Department of General Medical Disciplines and the Department of Humanities and Natural Disciplines. The department was created to provide fundamental training for students in humanities, natural sciences, language, and several general professional disciplines.
Since its foundation, the department has occupied an important place in the academic structure of the university, providing instruction in disciplines for medical and IT programs. The educational, methodological, scientific-research, and educational activities of the department reflect its interdisciplinary nature and orientation toward high-quality fundamental training of students.
The history of the department leadership reflects the stages of its establishment and development.
