SCIENTIFIC ACTIVITY AT JALAL-ABAD INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY
Scientific activity is an integral part of the mission of Jalal-Abad International University (JAIU) and represents a key component of the educational process. It ensures the development of a research culture, the formation of innovative thinking, and the integration of education with science and practice. Research conducted at the university focuses on solving pressing issues in medicine, healthcare, pedagogy, and information technologies, strengthening the scientific potential of the region and the entire higher education system of Kyrgyzstan.
Main Directions of Scientific Work
The research activity of JAIU covers a wide range of fields, with particular attention given to fundamental and applied research in medicine, pedagogy, and IT technologies.
The priority areas of scientific activity include:
- pedagogy and teaching methods of humanities, including for international students;
- morphology, public health, and epidemiology — studying the patterns of disease development and spread, preventive measures, and factors affecting population health;
- clinical research conducted in cooperation with leading medical institutions of the country, aimed at developing and implementing modern methods of diagnosing, treating, and preventing infectious and non-infectious diseases.
Such an interdisciplinary approach ensures the connection between science and practice, allowing research results to be integrated into the educational process and medical practice.
Organization and Coordination of Scientific Work
The coordination of scientific activity at JAIU is carried out by the Vice-Rector for Science, State Language, and Social Work, as well as by the dean’s offices and departments. Each structural unit develops its own research plan approved by the Academic Council of the university. The work is conducted within internal and external grant projects, as well as in cooperation with scientific centers and universities of Kyrgyzstan and other countries.
The university has a mentoring system in which experienced teachers supervise student research projects, helping them develop skills in scientific analysis, critical thinking, and academic writing.
Publication Activity and International Integration
One of the indicators of effective scientific activity is the publication activity of the staff. JAIU actively encourages the participation of teachers and researchers in international conferences, symposiums, and forums, as well as the publication of articles in peer-reviewed journals indexed in Scopus and Web of Science.
To strengthen its scientific standing and international presence, since 2025 the university has been publishing its own peer-reviewed journal — the “Eurasian Journal of Scientific and Multidisciplinary Research,” which features scientific works of faculty members, postgraduate students, and invited researchers from various countries. This journal serves as a platform for sharing experience and disseminating advanced knowledge in the fields of medical and humanitarian sciences.
JAIU provides financial support to its staff for publishing in international scientific journals, which contributes to enhancing their scientific qualifications and strengthening the university’s reputation on the global stage.
Scientific-Educational and Practical Events
To develop a research culture and improve the qualifications of faculty members, the university regularly conducts scientific and educational events, including:
- scientific conferences and symposiums — for presenting research results and sharing experience;
- seminars and academic schools — to enhance methodological and publication activity;
- master classes and lectures with participation of national and international experts aimed at developing modern competencies among teachers and students;
- trainings and courses for medical workers on current issues of diagnostics, digital technologies, and innovative treatment methods.
This system of continuous professional development contributes to improving the quality of the educational process and integrating scientific achievements into medical practice.
Support for Young Researchers and the Development of Innovation
JAIU pays special attention to involving students and young scientists in research activities. The university regularly organizes student research competitions, science days, and idea fairs where young researchers present their projects and developments. The best works receive support in the form of grants, scientific consultations, and publications in the university journal.
The university is developing a system of scientific clubs and laboratories where students, under the guidance of teachers, carry out research projects. This not only helps develop research skills but also forms a talent pool for scientific institutions and the healthcare sector.
The Importance of Scientific Activity for University Development
Scientific activity at JAIU plays a strategic role in improving the quality of education and enhancing the competitiveness of graduates. Research contributes to updating educational programs, implementing innovative teaching methods, and developing critical thinking among students.
Through active scientific work, the university fulfills an important mission — strengthening the intellectual potential of the region, developing medicine and healthcare, and contributing to the sustainable socio-economic development of Kyrgyzstan.
Thus, scientific activity at Jalal-Abad International University represents a dynamically developing system that integrates educational, research, and innovative processes. The university strives to create an environment in which science becomes the foundation of professional growth, a source of new knowledge, and practical solutions.
The development of scientific potential, support for researchers, international cooperation, and the implementation of innovative technologies make JAIU a significant center of scientific progress and education, capable of making a substantial contribution to national and global science.
