
World Childhood Cancer Day
February 17, 2026On February 21, Jalal-Abad International University held a cultural event dedicated to International Mother Language Day. The event was organized by the Department of Humanities and Natural Sciences. Its purpose was to highlight the value of the mother tongue, promote respect for linguistic diversity, and strengthen intercultural understanding among students.
The opening remarks were delivered by Z.A. Asilova, Vice-Rector for Research, the State Language, and Social Affairs. She emphasized that the mother tongue is a vital cultural heritage that preserves a nation’s history, worldview, and identity. The ceremony continued with an artistic program prepared by students.
Given the university’s multicultural community, the program was presented in a multilingual format. Students recited poems and delivered short presentations in Kyrgyz, Russian, Uzbek, Hindi, Tamil, Urdu, and other languages. Traditional songs and creative performances reflecting national cultures were also showcased.
Students and faculty members actively participated in the celebration. Student groups prepared wall newspapers featuring the history, development, and importance of languages. Participants wore traditional national costumes, highlighting the cultural richness of the university community. The event contributed to fostering respect for native languages and strengthening friendly ties among diverse cultures.
