Department of Clinical Disciplines of Jalal-Abad International University
The Department of Clinical Disciplines was established by Order No. 83 of August 30, 2025 at the Medical Faculty of JAIU.
Initially, the department was headed by Sadyrova Nurgul Adylgazievna — an experienced teacher and organizer, author of scientific publications and participant of international conferences. Under her leadership, the department actively develops modern approaches to teaching, implements evidence-based medicine principles and is oriented towards international educational standards.

Department of Clinical Disciplines of JAIU
The Department of Clinical Disciplines of JAIU (therapy, surgery, pediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology, anesthesiology and resuscitation, etc.) is a key element in implementing practice-oriented medical education. Student training is organized at the bases of specialized hospitals, perinatal centers, children's hospitals and outpatient-clinical institutions with high clinical load, which ensures familiarity with the full spectrum of therapeutic, surgical, pediatric and obstetric-gynecological pathology.
- Early clinical orientation: students are involved in clinical bases already in junior courses
- Participation in receptions of therapeutic, surgical and pediatric patients
- Observation of pregnant women, presence at operations and manipulations
- Visiting patient schools (on chronic diseases, rehabilitation, family planning, etc.)
- Formation of clinical thinking and communication skills at early stages of training
In all clinical disciplines, simulation training is widely implemented: working out algorithms for emergency care in therapy and pediatrics, basic and advanced resuscitation measures, surgical and obstetric-gynecological manipulations using simulators and mannequins.
Assessment of competency formation is conducted using modern methods — OSCE, Mini-CEX, DOPS, peer-assessment, which makes the knowledge and skills control procedure more objective and transparent.
The educational process of the Department of Clinical Disciplines of JAIU is based on evidence-based medicine principles with mandatory analysis of modern international clinical recommendations and their adaptation to healthcare conditions of the Kyrgyz Republic.
Regular interdisciplinary clinical discussions are held with the participation of therapists, surgeons, pediatricians, obstetrician-gynecologists, anesthesiologists-resuscitators and other specialists, forming students' skills of working in a multidisciplinary team.
The Department of Clinical Disciplines of JAIU pays special attention to developing a culture of respectful, safe and patient-oriented patient management: observance of patient rights, medical ethics and deontology, prevention of stigma and discrimination against vulnerable groups, pregnant women and parturient women, children and their parents.
The teaching staff of the Department of Clinical Disciplines of JAIU actively conducts scientific research in the field of non-infectious and infectious pathology, maternal and child health, surgical and critical conditions, involving students in research.

Prospects of the Department of Clinical Disciplines of JAIU
The Department of Clinical Disciplines of JAIU is considered a strategic resource of the university and in the near future is oriented towards further strengthening the integration of education, science and practical healthcare.
It is planned to expand the network of clinical bases by concluding new agreements with state and private healthcare institutions, as well as developing the university's own clinical departments, which will provide students with access to a wide range of clinical cases and modern treatment technologies.
An important direction is the modernization of simulation infrastructure: gradual updating of equipment, implementation of high-realistic mannequins, VR/AR modules and expansion of OSCE stations bank in therapy, surgery, pediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology, anesthesiology and resuscitation.
Further development of competency-oriented assessment methods (OSCE, Mini-CEX, DOPS, peer-assessment) is planned with their integration into the final state certification system oriented towards international exams.
The prospect of the Department of Clinical Disciplines of JAIU is to strengthen the research component: implementation of interdepartmental projects in the field of internal medicine, surgery, pediatrics, reproductive and maternal health, critical conditions, formation of sustainable research groups with the participation of students and residents, increasing publication activity in regional and international publications.
Special attention is planned to be paid to the development of international cooperation: academic mobility of teaching staff and students, participation in international internships, joint educational and research projects with foreign universities and clinics, which will contribute to the comparability of JAIU graduates' training with global requirements for doctors.
In the field of digitalization, the Department of Clinical Disciplines of JAIU is focused on expanding the use of electronic medical records, telemedicine consultations, electronic practice journals and digital student portfolios, which will improve the monitoring of competency formation and strengthen ties with clinical partners.
The implementation of the above prospects will ensure the improvement of clinical training quality, competitiveness of JAIU graduates in the national and international labor markets, and will strengthen the university's role as a significant partner of the regional healthcare system.
