Proposal for Cooperation and Strategic Planning for Erasmus+

Jalal-Abad International University (JAIU) is committed to expanding global academic mobility and strengthening international cooperation for both its students and faculty members. As part of this mission, JAIU is currently in the planning and development phase of establishing formal cooperation with the European Union’s Erasmus+ Programme.

Although the partnership has not yet been finalized, JAIU has already begun internal preparation, documentation review, and strategic planning to fulfill the necessary eligibility and quality requirements for participation in Erasmus+.

Our Vision for Erasmus+ Cooperation

The Erasmus+ Programme will provide exceptional opportunities for our medical students and health sciences students, as well as for academic and administrative staff, including:

For Students

  • Semester-based exchange mobility at European partner universities.
  • Participation in short-term medical internships, electives, and clinical observership programs.
  • Cultural and academic exposure to European educational environments.
  • Development of international competencies and research experience.

For Faculty Members

  • Teaching mobility and guest lectureships at participating European universities.
  • Opportunities for training, professional development, and collaborative research.
  • Joint seminars, conferences, and academic engagement.
  • Enhancement of pedagogical skills and international teaching standards.

Current Development Status

JAIU is actively working on the following steps to prepare for Erasmus+ cooperation:

  1. Institutional Assessment: Reviewing academic structures, credit systems (ECTS alignment), and curriculum compatibility for mobility programs.
  2. Documentation and Compliance: Preparing institutional profiles, quality assurance documents, and internationalization strategies required for Erasmus+ eligibility.
  3. Communication with Potential Partner Universities: Exploring academic partnerships with European institutions offering medicine, public health, and biomedical sciences.
  4. Establishing an Internal Erasmus Coordination Team: Creating a working group under the Office of International Relations to oversee application procedures and mobility planning.
  5. Policy Development: Drafting internal regulations for student selection, faculty mobility, academic credit transfer, and recognition of study periods abroad.

Future Goals

  • Launch the Erasmus+ student mobility program in medicine and related health sciences.
  • Initiate faculty teaching and training mobility in cooperation with EU institutions.
  • Participate in joint international research and curriculum development projects.
  • Host visiting professors from Erasmus+ partner universities.
  • Expand mobility opportunities to additional faculties at JAIU in the long term.
