At Jalal-Abad International University, the 5th Republican Student Olympiad in Clinical Immunology and Immunoprophylaxis was held
March 1, 2026On March 2, 2026, the 10th Anniversary International Congress “Immunology and Immunoprophylaxis 2026: Innovative Strategies and Horizons of Development” was held in Manas at Jalal-Abad International University. The event, dedicated to World Immunity Day, also included an International Scientific and Practical Conference.
The congress was conducted in both offline and online formats and brought together practicing physicians, university faculty members, researchers, and students.
The event was organized by Jalal-Abad International University in cooperation with the Department of Epidemiology and Immunology of Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University named after the First President of the Russian Federation B.N. Yeltsin, and Kyrgyz State Medical Institute of Postgraduate Education named after S.B. Daniyarov.
The congress focused on improving the quality of medical care in clinical immunology at the primary healthcare (PHC) level, strengthening the evidence base of research, and promoting interdisciplinary collaboration through thematic sessions, workshops, and clinical case discussions.
Plenary Session Speakers
The plenary session featured invited experts and leading specialists:
- V.A. Chereshnev (online), Deputy President of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Honorary President of the Russian Scientific Society of Immunologists, Scientific Director of the Institute of Immunology and Physiology of the Ural Branch of RAS — with the presentation “Inflammation and Immunity.”
- I.A. Tuzankina (online), Professor, MD, Head of the international educational project on Primary Immunodeficiencies in Central Asia (J Project), Secretary General of the Russian Scientific Society of Immunologists, Chief Researcher at the Institute of Immunology and Physiology of the Ural Branch of RAS — with the presentation “Immunopathology and Immunodeficiencies.”
- M.A. Bolkov (online), PhD, Researcher at the Russian Gerontology Research and Clinical Center of Pirogov Russian National Research Medical University — with the presentation “Classification of Inborn Errors of Immunity (Primary Immunodeficiencies).”
Additional reports addressed the development of immunoprophylaxis, infection control, laboratory diagnostics of autoimmune diseases, and epidemiological aspects of measles.
More than 30 presentations were delivered during the sectional sessions.
All participants received certificates, and outstanding contributors were awarded First, Second, and Third Degree Diplomas.
A strong practical focus was placed on workshops in immunoprophylaxis, where participants discussed cold chain management, medical waste management in vaccination rooms, and strategies to improve public adherence to vaccination.
At the conclusion of the congress, participants adopted a Resolution highlighting the relevance of the topics discussed and the high scientific and practical level of the program.
The Resolution outlines priorities for 2026, including:
- Development of clinical immunology at the PHC level (early detection of immunodeficiencies, patient referral pathways, clinical protocols);
- Improvement of immunoprophylaxis quality (cold chain management, infection control, medical waste management);
- Expansion of continuing medical education (CME) programs;
- Strengthening research quality through international reporting standards (CONSORT, STROBE, CARE, PRISMA).
The congress reaffirmed Jalal-Abad International University’s status as an effective platform for intersectoral dialogue between healthcare practitioners, universities, and research centers. The Resolution also confirmed the decision to continue the congress annually and expand the geography of invited experts while maintaining a hybrid participation format.
